How adorable is this Baby Jar Hot Cocoa Snowman I made out of old baby jars? I love this idea mainly because it is re-purposing something that would otherwise be discarded. I keep saving baby jars even when I don’t know what I need them for because once in a while I come up with a great idea like this one! This is the perfect gift idea for the holidays. Teachers, coworkers, family & friends would love this one. Not to mention kids!
- 3 Baby Jars per Snowman
- Permanent Marker
- Black Construction Paper
- Mini Marshmallows
- Hot Cocoa
- Chocolate Chips – In the future I may use White Chips
First thing I did was remove the sticker labels from the baby jars, then filled them with the ingredients. Mini marshmallows in one, hot cocoa in another, and chocolate chips in the last. Once I decided which order to stack them, I added a ribbon scarf onto the middle jar. I used the permanent marker to draw on the face and buttons. The last step is to make the hat. I used an extra jar and traced it onto the black construction paper, then eyeballed and drew a circle outside of that one (meaning bigger) and that’s the one I cut along. Then I cut out the middle of the circle so that it makes a donut shaped ring, then I just slipped that over the lip of the jar and screwed the lid on. I traced the lid onto the black paper and cut it out and put it on top of the lid, then cut out a small long rectangular shape and used that to wrap around the part between the bottom and top of the hat. Then I used a little tape to secure it. TA-DA! All done! These are SO adorable.
