You have been cleaning fan blades wrong your entire life, and so have I!! I am so excited to share with you this Cleaning Hack for Ceiling Fans! I used to really struggle to clean my ceiling fans until my husband came up with this excellent idea. He took over cleaning a lot of things around the house while I was pregnant and I was so excited about it because he had so many good ideas to improve the jobs to make them faster and easier. Here’s what he did to clean the ceiling fans:
- Garbage bag
- Lysol Wipes (or baby wipes would probably work) or wet paper towels
First, make sure your ladder is safe to climb on, then use the garbage bag to catch the debris and dust from the fan as you wipe the fan blades with the Lysol wipes. I can’t believe how genius this is. Before my husband told me this would be easier, I used to clean the fan blades using a pillowcase which also worked well. I would just get really annoyed because I had to then go outside and shake it off before throwing it in the washing machine. So, if you have the materials this is a much easier way to do it as you can just toss everything in the garbage when you are done.
