You’ll love this Free Monkey Lens Buddy Crochet Pattern I just whipped up this weekend for my new Morning Peach Photography venture! :) I saw one of these on pinterest and couldn’t resist, can’t wait for my next toddler or kiddo to try this pattern out on, and I will be making more!!
This pattern was made around a hair tie to allow stretch to fit different sized lenses! I am so in love with this already and can’t wait to make more!! Worsted Weight Yarn
G Hook – 4mm
Ouchless Goody Brand Hair Tie
Googley Eyes & Hot Glue Gun (optional)
St = Stitch
Sl st = Slip Stitch
DC = Double Crochet
SC = Single Crochet
Ch = Chain
HDC = Half Double Crochet
Face/Ring – Dark Brown
RD 1: Connect to hair tie and ch 2, dc 40 around ponytail, sl st to first dc
RD 2: Ch 2, dc into the same st and the next 6 sts
RD 3: Ch 2, turn your work, dc into the same st and the next 6 sts
RD 4: Ch 1, skip the next st, sc into the next 3 sts, skip the next, sl st into the last st
RD 5: Ch 2, hdc into the next st, sl st in next, hdc in next, sl st in next. Tie off.
RD 6: Attach and sc around entire “Head” area that sticks up from the ring. Tie off & weave in ends.
Face – Light Brown
Ch 7, 2 sc into 2nd ch from the hook, sc into the next 4 sts, 2sc into the last ch. After you complete this row sl st to the beginning, ch 1, turn, sc into the same st, dc into the next 4 sts, sl st into the next st, leave a long tail to attach to the dark brown body.
Ears – Dark Brown
Attach in the 3rd ch from the ring on the face side as seen in the photo, ch 2, dc 4 , sl st, tie off and weave in ends.
Tail – Dark Brown
Attach to bottom (as seen in the photo) ch 17, sc in 2nd ch from hook, *sk 1, sc* Repeat to end. Attach to body, tie off & weave in ends.
Hair on top – Dark Brown
Cut 4 pieces of yarn about 3 inches long, fold in half and pull middle through loop on top of head, use your crochet hook to pull the ends through your loop and pull tight. Trim so they are all even.
Eyes – Attach googley eyes with a hot glue gun & you’re done!
