I am so excited to share with you the braided cable crochet stitch! I thought it was so complicated, but it is simple! I made a video tutorial that you may watch below, and then I will write out some directions to go with it. If you have questions, please make sure you read the directions a couple times and watch the video all the way through. If you have done both and still have questions, feel free to leave a comment below and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!
Chain in multiples of 8 + 4 depending on how wide you’d like your work.
DC= Double Crochet
FPtc= Front Post Treble Crochet (explained in video)
BR= Skip 1, FPtc, FPtc, go back & FPtc into the skipped stitch (explained in video)

RD 1: ch 20, sc in 2nd ch from the hook & to the end of the row (19 sts)
RD 2: ch 3, turn, dc in the same st and each st across (19 sts)
RD 3: ch 1, turn, sc in the same st and each st across (19 sts)
RD 4: ch 3, turn, dc into the same st and the 2 next sts, *FPtc into next st from dc round, BR into sts from dc round, FPtc into next st from dc round, dc into next 3 sts* Repeat to end
RD 5: ch 1, turn, sc in the same st and each st across
Note: From here on out all FPtc’s will be made into the FPtc’s previous rounds as shown in the video.
RD 6: ch 3, turn, dc into the same st and the next 2 sts, *FPtc, BR, FPtc, dc into next 3 sts* Repeat to end
