Have you ever noticed the extreme difference in price with the “raw/natural” nuts in the packages vs. the salted ones in the bulk section? Well, I have always bought the more expensive ones with no added salt, then I got a better idea. I could buy the nuts from the bulk section and remove the salt!!!
Here are the results from this experiment, it worked out GREAT! :D

So, after seeing all of this salt I started looking around for my strainer, hoping this idea would work!
Please excuse my strawberry mess in the sink :) There was so much salt covering the bottom of the sink after straining all of the nuts, take a look for yourself!
I put a cup or so of nuts into my large strainer and shook it around above the sink and TA-DA! Almost all of the salt disappeared!
I hope you found this tutorial useful, please let me know if you end up using this and if you find any other foods that work in the same way to reduce the amount of sodium. We are trying to limit our sodium intake.
